THE FARM LANDSCAPE

Cornwall Cattle Company is located on Ridge Road in Cornwall, Vermont. While the view of the Adirondacks from the farm is stunning, the soil is even better! Our farm lies in the Champlain Valley Biophysical Region; this means the land in this location is low, warm, and dry compared to other parts of Vermont. This area has excellent agricultural soils formed from sand from post-glacial rivers and outcrops of limestone and other Ordovician rocks. Bottom line: the cattle on this property enjoy incredibly lush and nutrient rich grass during Vermont’s grazing season!

FARM OWNERS

Owners Churchill and Janet Franklin are whole-heartedly invested in taking care of their cows, the planet, and the local community. From renovating properties that otherwise would be left to deteriorate to removing invasive species to protect bat habitat, their efforts prove how much they care for the local environment and the people that live here.

FARM MANAGERS

Mark is a lifelong Vermonter, born and raised in nearby Salisbury. Gina is a dairy farmer from Nebraska that attended Middlebury College in the 90’s and has resided in Vermont since then. Their common core values of hard-work and growing their own food have kept them farming together since they met. Even though they both have had successful careers in other areas, their shared passions of raising beef humanely, contributing to the local economy, and eating simply and healthily have led them to farming in their later years.
